Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose
CAS#: 9032-42-2
SYNONYMS: HEMC, MHEC
Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (MHEC)
Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose is a non-ionic cellulose ether made from natural high polymer cellulose. It is an odourless, tasteless and non-toxic white powder, which can be dissolved in cold water to form a transparent viscous solution. Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose can be used in different building materials: Tile adhesive, Cement mortar, Joint filler, Self-levelling compound, External wall insulation, Gypsum based plaster, Ceramic extrusion.
Thickening Effect
Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose (HEMC) is used very often as a thickener in building applications as it prevents segregation and improves the cohesion of the formulation components.
Water Rentention
Allowing more water to stay in the mortar and participate in the cement hydration reaction. Compared with HPMC, HEMC has a higher gel temperature.
Easy workability
Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose (HEMC) is widely used as an additive to building chemicals and it commits improved open time, lubrication, and resistance to sagging for cement-based or gypsum-based dry mix mortars, to realize easy workability.
Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose
Maisi® hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose (HEMC) is a non-ionic cellulose ether polymer based on cellulose, a natural polymer derived from refine cotton linter.

Tile Adhesive
Tile adhesive is a new modern decoration material used to paste decorative materials such as tiles, face tiles, floor tiles, etc
Dry Mix Motar
Dry mix mortar is one of the most widely used materials in the modern construction industry, it can be divided into finishing, bonding and other materials.
Wall Putty
Wall putty is a very fine material that is mixed with white cement, water and other additives. The primary role of Maisi® is to provide ease of work for manual coating.
